Archery is one of humankind’s oldest activities. The practice is mostly for competition these days, but some people still go out hunting as was its original intention. Unfortunately, the archery hobby hasn’t translated all that well to mobile. There are a bunch of games with the occasional bow and arrow, but very few true archery games. We dug through the Play Store and found what we could and we’ll add new games to the list as we find them. Here are the best archery games for Android. Archery Big Match

Price: Free to play

Archery Big Match is a simple archery game with decent, but not amazing graphics. Players take aim at moving targets and try to hit the bullseye. The game includes offline, local multiplayer, various items to help your game play, support for 16 languages, and multiple game modes. We particularly enjoyed stuff like the wind affecting arrow flight. It’s a free to play game, but it seems to be one of the better archery games for Android.

Archery Elite

Price: Free to play

Archery Elite is another up-and-coming archery game for mobile. This one boasts a more varied experience with several game modes, including online PvP mode, an offline mode, tons of unlockable content, and more. The competitive nature of the game and its free to play price tag does make it difficult to win without spending money. However, as a time killer, it’s not a bad arcade archery game.

Archery King

Price: Free to play

Archery King is one of the most popular archery games on Android right now. It has a bunch of game modes, including online PvP. Players shoot targets, through obstacles, and there are many balloons to pop. Players can customize their loadouts for better shooting and improve skills through game play. We noticed the game does use bots when it can’t find real players to match up against and we’re fine with it. This is another good arcade archery game.

Archery Master 3D

Price: Free to play

Archery Master 3D is one of the most popular archery game on Android at the time of this writing with over 900,000 reviews on Google Play. The game features four locations, about two dozen pieces of gear to collect, over 100 levels, and online PvP multiplayer. It hits all of the marks, pun intended, for a good free to play archery on mobile. The graphics are clean and the game play is satisfying. Of course, the free to play part kicks in after a bit, but it’s still one of the better archery games on mobile.

Archery Physics Shooting Challenge

Price: $0.99

Archery Physics Shooting Challenge is a niche title in the archery games space. It costs $0.99 and has no additional in-app purchases. It’s a good choice for those who dislike free to play titles. The game features 70 levels, surprisingly decent graphics, decent bow and arrow flight mechanics, and support for offline game play. It’s a fairly basic target shooting game, but it’s a cheap one for those on a budget.

Archery World Champion 3D

Price: Free to play

Archery World Champion 3D is another up-and-coming archery game. It’s also one of the largest. The game comes packed with 390 single player levels, 270 dual game levels, and an online social gaming mode as well. You also get cloud saving, decent graphics, simple controls, and more. It’s obviously not the most polished game we’ve ever seen and you should probably cloud save twice just to make sure it sticks. However, there is enough content here to last you a long time if you like the game.

Bowmasters

Price: Free to play

Bowmasters is the second of two archery games on this list by Miniclip. This one is more of a retro style arcade archery title. It reminds us a bit of Angry Birds. You wind up and shoot or throw an object and try to hit the character down the line. The game boasts 41 characters, various weapons, PvP, and multiple game modes. This one isn’t solely an archery game, it’s more of an arcade game with archery elements. Otherwise, it’s not bad.

Elite Archer

Price: Free to play

Elite Archer is another arcade archery game. It’s also one of the largest on the list with 600 levels along with limited time game modes and offline game play. The graphics are above average and the mechanics are simple enough. It doesn’t take long to get the hang of this one. It’s a free to play title and has a lot of those elements as well, including a ton of gear to collect and more. The ads are a bit much, though, and there is a bit of inconsistency with arrow placement.

Stickman archery games

Price: Free / Free to play (usually)

There are actually a few decent archery games with the Stickman title by a variety of developers. We tried a few of them, including The Archers 2, Stickman Archers, and Stickman Archer and they all play more or less the same way. You play as a stickman and you shoot bad guys. The games feature plenty of bloodshed, some puzzle elements, and more. They are not games we would recommend to children by any stretch. You can get The Archers 2 with the button below. Tiny Archers

Price: Free to play

Tiny Archers is another popular archery game. It plays a little bit like a mix of tower defense and angry birds. You play as an archer on a tower and you fling arrows at oncoming bad guys to prevent them from storming your tower. The game includes four playable characters, various enemies, four story modes, 130 levels, and some RPG elements as well. It’s a bit simple, so those who need super engaging mechanics may need to look elsewhere. Otherwise, this is an excellent tower defense archery game.

Dozens of archery games are available for your smartphone, but how do you know which ones are awesome, and which ones aren’t worth dumping Candy Crush for? We’ve compiled a guide to some of the more interesting games to help you enjoy archery between trips to your local archery store.

Of course, tapping at a phone screen is nothing like shooting a real bow, so app developers must come up with interesting ways to let you draw and aim at virtual targets. Some developers have done it better than others. Let’s see what’s available:

Core Archery

This is a pretty simple game with a unique method of drawing the bow. You must draw a perfect circle on the screen to get the power and accuracy to hit the target. You work your way through nine levels. It’s not too complicated, but there’s lots of satisfaction in getting it right and getting better at it. You can watch a trailer here.

Athletics: Summer Sports 2

Type: Multi-sports game with archery

Available for Android and iOS

Cost: Free version with ads, $1.99 for the full version.

This is a “Summer Olympics” app with an archery component, with impressive full 3-D graphics. The gameplay involves holding and tilting your phone to aim, and then hitting a button to execute the shot. You “fly” with the arrow into the target. You can play against other people, too, and the full version includes archery as part of a few “pentathlon” style multi-sport events (which I now think I’d like to see in the real Olympics!). It’s good fun if you like a few other running and jumping sports, too.

AE Archer

Type: Target archery game

Available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone

Cost: Free (ad supported)

This popular target game requires a steady hand on the screen to tame a wandering sight, and you must read the wind just right. The wind-speed indicator could be a little bigger and clearer, and the graphics might not please everyone’s taste, but the gameplay is fun and they thought about the sounds. This 3-D simulator has some good graphics and atmosphere. Your sight doesn’t wander, but the wind and gravity do. You must also carefully watch which way the leaves or snow are blowing if you want to put the arrow in the middle. It starts easy and quickly gets tricky. It’s good for quick, casual games.

Temple Run: Brave

Type: ‘Endless runner’ action game (with some archery).

Available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone

Cost: $1.99 (plus in-app purchases)

This is one of the bigger-budget games on our list, and stars Merida – everyone’s favorite Disney princess – running, jumping, sliding and shooting her way out of peril. You can watch some of the gameplay here. It’s based on a popular game called Temple Run, but with archery. Targets appear for you to shoot at, and collect coins. This one is for Brave fans and anyone who likes fast action as much as they like shooting arrows.

The Legend of Holy Archer

Type: Action/fantasy

Available for Android and iOS

Cost: $1.99 (plus in-app purchases)

“You can control holy arrows through the sky with just your finger!” This is a Skyrim-style actioner from a Japanese studio, where you shoot to defeat some serious monsters. It has interesting concepts and great graphics, but it has a steep learning curve for the controls and it’s fairly complicated. It’s for the slightly more serious gamer, maybe. Have a look here.

Archer World Cup 3

Type: Target archery game West greene pigeon forge game.

Cost: Free (ad-supported)

Now in its third version, this is one of the best “pure” target archery simulators. You must be able to read the wind and feel which way your bow is going to keep the bonus arrows coming. This one has some seriously addictive gameplay. They’ve really thought about the learning curve and how to keep you hooked on what is a relatively simple game. Arrow Ambush

Type: Strategy game

Available for Android and iOS

Cost: Free, in-app purchases available

This isn’t an “archery game” as such, but it’s too good not to include! You must fire arrows at a rotating target, making sure not to hit ones you’ve already landed. It’s fiendishly simple and just as addictive, and you need expert timing. Great for the casual gamer, and worth paying for the upgrade (the ads can be irritating).

Archer Champion

Type: Target archery

Available for Android and iOS

Cost: Free (ad-supported)

How To Play Archery In Game Pigeon Play

Another target simulator, this one stands out from the pack with high-quality graphics and scenery, and a satisfying game engine rewards a bit of practice. Later on you can unlock moving targets, 3-D hunting levels, and all sorts of goodies and power-ups. Compound bows are even available! Nice sounds, too. Great effort. Watch the trailer here.
